Teaching PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is three-pronged:  Firstly, that education and training are only effective if they address specific needs and/or goals for the students;  Secondly, effective if that education and training provides practical strategies for taking the concepts taught and utilizing them outside the classroom;  And Finally, that the students taught in an interesting and fun way are more attentive and more engaged.  My strength is in the ability to research and synthesize a course on nearly any technical topic within and tangential to my areas of expertise, then design and execute that module in an interesting, informative and exciting manner, in which all students are able to understand (and retain) the material - regardless of their backgrounds, capabilities, or level of knowledge.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was a "Future Teacher" in elementary school, teaching all types of topics to my fellow students.  I was a tutor throughout primary school and college.  I developed and facilitated Diversity Workshops for several years at the start of my professional career.  In parallel and beyond that, I developed and presented a course on R&D Planning and Management to Korea Telecom managers in a facility in New Jersey, which led to being invited to Korea to deliver an expanded workshop to managers there.   In that same period, I delivered a technology paper I co-authored at an IEEE conference in India. I've done career days, STEM panels and student workshops.  I was part of a weekend youth development program developing (and delivering) technical and cultural programs for at-risk high school students.  I am currently an Adjunct Professor both in a Continuing Education program in a CUNY college for working professionals, and in an Undergraduate management program in a design college for junior and senior level design students.
